Munchies + Tourette’s = Korean loan shark, binge eating after a workout. Also, sexy eyes.

wilwheaton:

She was kicked off the basketball team because of the potential for “drama” her presence created. She’s been vilified by fellow students, called “criminal,” “rapist” and “child abuser.” She was expelled from school. And far worse. She’s facing a lifetime label of “sex-offender,” because the other girl’s parents brought criminal charges against her despite the fact that the relationship was consensual. What’s more, according to Hunt’s parents, Hunt was 17 when the relationship began, but the other girl’s parents waited until after she turned 18 to go to police.

Unbelievably, prosecutors have decided to press the criminal charge.

Emphasis mine.

So the prosecutor’s office in Sebastian River, Florida thinks this is a worthwhile use of taxpayer money and the court’s time.

Fuck everything about this.

Anybody else notice that laws like this don’t stop the wealthy, more educated (read: doctors, lawyers, university-level coaches, etc.), from financially supporting sex-trafficking and taking part in international sex-porn rings? It just gives them a scapegoat to sate the masses while they destroy the innocent for some “fetish.”

Men’s liberation

shitmystudentswrite:

I am proud to be a male. First of all, call me a pussy that’s fine, just as long as it isn’t me that is carrying the baby in my stomach for nine months.

Why do men always refer to a woman’s reproductive parts as “weaker”? Not only can a vagina stretch big enough to birth a child, but it goes back to normal size within a month. Touch a testicle the wrong way and OMGSNUAIXNWIAKAB…

I knew y’all would have a gif set of this by morning.

Truth.

I honestly think people who think this way can probably be classified as sociopaths.

Benghazi is still the nothingburger it’s always been, and everyone knows it; the DOJ episode is a policy debate, not a scandal; and it’s vanishingly unlikely that Obama had even the most tenuous connection to the IRS targeting of tea party groups, the only genuine scandal in the bunch.

Obama to GOP: Put Up or Shut Up on DOJ Investigation (via wilwheaton)

This is the BIGGEST cop-out I’ve read in a long time. If the tables were turned, the sky would be falling. Regardless, feigning ignorance does NOT make the situation or the President any better for it. I am sick of him pretending he didn’t know about illegal gun trading, IRS harassment, AP spying or Benghazi. WTH DOES he know??!

The words we say

shitmystudentswrite:

The words that we say, are what we have and believe in our hearts, and when we verbalize those words, that becomes the words we say.

TADA!

It’s hard to avoid thinking that she has a purpose for those who cannot be reached by a world that just doesn’t get it. May she bring the corn to those who don’t understand hope.

I’m sure that will wash off eventually.

This is totally besides the point, but I really hate it when people use the phrase: “First off.” It makes the person speaking sound simple.

This 17-Year-Old Coder Is Saving Twitter From TV Spoilers

Imagine you forget to watch a new episode of Game of Thrones the night it airs. Even if coworkers stay mum about important plot points, Twitter is abuzz with spoilers. Fortunately, there’s Twivo, a new program that allows Twitter users to censor their feeds from mentioning a certain TV show (and its characters) for a set time period. Jennie Lamere, a 17-year-old girl, invented the software last month—and won the grand prize at a national coding competition where Lamere was the only female who presented a project, and the only developer to work alone. Internet: Meet the reason we need more women in tech.

(From Mother Jones)

I’m so excited by all of the teenagers in science and tech that we’re hearing about these days. MORE GIRLS PLEASE!

At SXSW, we talked about how we can’t wait to see the apps fangirls create to make the internet further work the way THEY want. What we may have not said so clearly is that it’s really the way that EVERYONE wants the internet to work. Go girl.

^^^  so into this.

Oh. My. God.

I fuckin’ love every single bit of this post.

He has the most “feminine” handwriting I’ve ever seen. And I mean that in the least “cissexist” way possible. It’s merely an observation that I can’t ignore.
